Some people think that the best way to be successful in life is to get a university education.Others disagree and say that nowadays,this is no longer true.Discuss both views and give your own opinions.

According to some people,getting a university degree is the surefire way to become successful in life.Others,however,insist that it is not necessary to go to university.In my opinion,education will certainly make it easier to achieve success,but it is not a prerequisite.

University education is essential for those who want to achieve success in an academic career.For example,you cannot be a doctor without going to university.In other words,it is not possible to achieve success as a doctor without a university degree.Universities provide knowledge in various subjects and also make students worldly wise.While interacting with people,it is easy to see that those who have a university degree tend to be more sophisticated.They are more knowledgeable and have considerably higher chances of getting employed.

However,success does not always require this knowledge or sophistication.You do not need a degree to become a successful actor,singer,athlete,politician or businessperson.Edison is the greatest inventor of all times but did not even complete school education.Tendulkar does not have a degree,nor does Dhirubhai Ambani.These are all successful people.They achieved success by dint of their hard work,perseverance and talent.These days,a smartphone camera and a small amount of talent are more than enough to start vlogging on the internet and achieve success overnight.Of course,university education makes it easy for talented and hardworking people to achieve success in life.But it is not a must.

To conclude,university education is essential for those who want to achieve success in a career in law,medicine,architecture or teaching.However,it is not essential for success in general.If a person is hardworking,intelligent or talented in some other way,they can achieve success regardless of whether they have a degree or not.

Many people use social media every day to keep in touch with friends and get social news.Do you think the advantages of itoutweigh the disadvantages?

It can be observed that these days social media channels are being widely used not only to communicate with each other but also to be abreast of the latest happenings around the world.

First,the modern means of remaining in contact with a cross section of society,like WhatsApp,Facebook and so on,can now be availed on smart phones which are constantly with us.This makes it fast,easy and cheap to speak to others.Moreover,we can get instant feedback thus saving valuable time and money.Second,our mobile gadgets provide news on social media,on the go,for busy people.Besides,information from all over the world,be it of sports,politics or weather could be accessed through social media as they happen,unlike in the past.

Nonetheless,the social media has adversely impacted our relationships in the real world.A sharp reduction in physical interaction to connect with others,has led to many social evils like loneliness and other psychological illnesses which were unheard of in erstwhile times.In addition,people are now more physically unhealthy due to its excessive usage which leaves little time for exercise.More children now have poor eyesight as they devote greater amount of time on social platforms for news or communication.

To conclude,there is no doubt that modern times have seen a surge in the use of social media for interactions as well as gathering news.According to me,despite few demerits,this trend offers greater advantages of speed and comfort in connecting and being updated on news reports.

盤點雅思寫作備考中的誤區(qū)

字數越多，分數越高？

雅思寫作并沒有安慰分和獎勵分一說，文章的分數取決于文章的質量。如果字數未達到要求，最后的分數肯定不可觀，但“字數越多，分數越高”這一理論一定是無稽之談。

建議大家寫小作文的字數不能少于170詞，大作文的字數不能少于270詞，至于具體要寫多少真的沒有硬性要求，只要內容完整連貫就可以了。

單詞要夠長夠生僻？

作文不是單詞比賽，而是觀點的呈現和交流，用詞不是為了長而生僻，而是為了準確、能契合語境。好的作文，選詞恰當到位是非常重要的。

背單詞不能盲目，把單詞放到句子里去記，這樣你記住的不僅僅是這個單詞，還知道這個單詞的用法，舉一反三效果更好~大家平時可以多看寫作范文，但不是去背范文，而是背范文中的單詞、詞組搭配！

盲目背單詞，不僅很難記住，就算記住了，也有可能不會使用，相當于白費功夫?！癴ire”這個詞，許多同學不屑一用，但是在新聞上非常常見。

例如：

“Governor Rick Snyder is under fire for the state's slow response to the warnings.”

和通俗的意思不同，under fire是指受到嚴厲批評；遭到攻擊。

語法不重要，主要看內容？

雅思考試評分標準中，task response確實很重要，但這并不代表語法不重要。一篇全是語法錯誤多到讓人看不懂的文章，內容怎么可能完整，主題怎么可能鮮明呢？

句子結構不對，語法錯誤一多，哪怕是你用多高端的詞，多好的內容都是萬年5.5。因此，準確的語法基礎就如同地基，基礎扎實了，文章寫起來才能更好地展開！

復雜句才是王道？雅思寫作

復雜句是從小到大英語老師們都強烈推薦的句型，例如定語從句、賓語從句、倒裝句等等，因此同學們拼了老命在考場上各種造句。

句子變換的確可以體現考生的寫作功底，但復雜句雖好，并不是說簡單句不能寫，也不是說全都是復雜句就一定能拿高分，某些時候復雜句過多反而顯得冗雜。

例如：

①He decided that he would buy a digital camera online.

②He decided to buy a digital camera online.

這兩句話大家覺得哪句話更好呢？

解析：雖然第一句用了賓語從句，但并不如第二句簡單明了，而考官們更加喜歡的是能更直接表達句意的方式，并不會去看你用了多少個復雜句。
